WB sender for Android

Updates, known issues and answers

What we have shipped, what is broken right now, and the questions we are asked most. This page is updated as things change β€” you do not need a new version of the app to see it.

Getting started

How do I send my first campaign?

Link your WhatsApp account once, add your numbers, write the message, then press Send. WB sender delivers them one after another over its own WhatsApp connection.

  • Add numbers by typing them, importing a CSV, or picking contacts
  • Write the message and attach a file if you need one
  • Press Send and leave WB sender running until the campaign finishes
Do I have to keep the app open while it sends?

You do not have to watch it. WB sender keeps sending in the background with a notification showing progress, so you can leave the app and lock the screen. What it cannot survive is being force-stopped or shut down by Android.

  • Leaving the app, or clearing it from recents, does not stop a campaign
  • Force-stopping it from Android settings does stop it
  • Exclude WB sender from battery optimisation so Android does not close it during a long send
  • Keep the phone plugged in for a long campaign

Sending messages

Can I message a number that is not saved in my contacts?

Yes. That is the main reason people use WB sender β€” paste or import the number and send, without saving it first.

  • Always include the country code, for example +91
  • The number does not need to be in your phonebook
How many messages can I send in one day?

Three separate limits apply, and whichever runs out first is the one you hit: your plan's allowance, the sending limits set in the app, and the warm-up ramp on a newly linked number.

  • Your plan: the trial covers 30 messages in total, the free plan 10 a day, premium is unlimited
  • The app ships with a limit of 60 an hour and 100 a day β€” these are starting values, and you can change both in Settings
  • A newly linked number starts lower and steps up over about two weeks; it never raises a limit you set, only lowers it
  • These figures come from community guidance, not from WhatsApp. Nothing here can guarantee an account is not banned
  • For volume without a daily limit there is the Official WhatsApp Business API β€” but Meta charges for every message and marketing templates need its approval
  • Our partner WizMessage runs that API at Meta's own rate with no markup, and coexistence onboarding means no business-verification wait

Why is sending slower than I expected?

The gap between messages is deliberate. WB sender waits a random 3 to 12 seconds between one message and the next, and pauses for longer every so often.

  • The delay is randomised rather than fixed, so the timing does not look mechanical
  • After about 40 messages it takes a longer rest, between 5 and 15 minutes
  • Both are adjustable in Settings, and longer messages take longer because it simulates typing
  • These figures come from community guidance, not from WhatsApp. Nothing here can guarantee an account is not banned
Can I send without using my phone at all?

Not with WB sender. It runs its own WhatsApp engine inside the app, on your phone, and that is what lets it message unsaved numbers with no approval process. The phone doing the sending has to stay switched on and running the app.

  • Sending with no phone involved at all means the Official WhatsApp Business API
  • It has no daily limit of its own and runs on Meta's servers, so nothing depends on a device staying awake
  • In exchange: Meta charges for every message, and marketing templates need Meta's approval before you may send them
  • Our partner WizMessage runs it at Meta's rate with no markup and a minimal monthly fee
  • Coexistence onboarding, so there is no business-verification wait

Contacts and lists

How do I import contacts from a CSV file?

Contacts β–Έ Import β–Έ choose the file. The first column must be the phone number with its country code.

  • One number per row, country code included
Can I get the numbers from a WhatsApp group?

Yes, for groups you are a member of, on the trial and on premium.

  • The trial includes one group extraction in total β€” deleting the saved list does not give it back
  • The free plan does not include group extraction; premium has no limit on it

Plans and billing

What does premium unlock?

Premium is a one-time purchase. It removes the message allowance entirely, and lifts the block on pulling contacts out of a group.

  • No daily message allowance β€” the free plan's 10 a day no longer applies
  • Group contact extraction, which the free plan does not include

I paid, but the app still shows the free plan

Google Play can take a few minutes to confirm a purchase. Check that you are signed in on this phone with the same Google account you paid with, then reopen the app.

  • Premium follows the Google account that bought it, not the handset
  • If it still shows the free plan after an hour, write to us from Talk to us in the app and we will look it up

Your account

How do I move to a new phone?

Install the app on the new phone and sign in with the same Google account. Premium follows the Play account, not the device.

Troubleshooting

Does WhatsApp have to be installed on the same phone?

No. WB sender links to a WhatsApp account the same way WhatsApp Web does, so the account can live on a different phone. You only need that phone in your hand once, to approve the link.

  • Have the phone with WhatsApp on it ready when you link, to scan the QR code or enter the pairing code
  • After that, WB sender connects on its own each time it starts
  • A WhatsApp Business account links in exactly the same way
My campaign stopped halfway through

Almost always Android closing WB sender to save battery. Nothing is lost β€” the campaign saves its place after every single message. Open the app and tap Resume on that campaign.

  • Resume picks up at the next unsent number, so nobody is messaged twice
  • Android will not restart it on its own, which is why it waits for you to reopen the app
  • Exclude WB sender from battery optimisation to stop it happening again
  • Keep the phone plugged in for a long campaign
Pairing fails, or the WhatsApp session keeps dropping

Nearly always the pairing step itself. If a pairing code will not go through, scan the QR code instead β€” it is the more reliable of the two, because you never have to leave WB sender.

  • Scan the QR code: WhatsApp β–Έ Linked devices β–Έ Link a device, then point the camera at the code WB sender shows
  • Using a pairing code instead, pick your country from the list and type the number without the country code β€” a wrong number simply never receives it
  • A pairing code dies if you take too long in WhatsApp; when that happens WB sender issues a fresh one, so use the newest code on screen
  • Keep the pairing screen open until it connects, and keep both phones online
  • If it says the session expired, link again rather than retrying the dead session
A scheduled campaign did not run

There are two reasons, and the app tells you which one it was in the notification it leaves behind.

  • "Android stopped the app from starting on its own" β€” allow WB sender to run in the background and to schedule exact alarms, then set the campaign again
  • "The device was off when it was due" β€” a scheduled run cannot fire on a powered-off phone, and it is not retried afterwards
  • Excluding WB sender from battery optimisation prevents the first one
