Link your WhatsApp to WB Sender

Two ways to link: with your phone number when WhatsApp is on this phone, or with a QR code when it is on another phone.

WhatsApp is on this phone

Link with your phone number. A phone cannot scan its own screen, so this is the way when WhatsApp and WB Sender are on the same phone.

  1. On WB Sender's Link WhatsApp screen, choose Phone number.
  2. Pick your country, type your WhatsApp number and tap Get code.
  3. Tap Open WhatsApp. In WhatsApp, go to Linked devices › Link a device › Link with phone number instead.
  4. Type the code WB Sender shows you.
  5. Come straight back to WB Sender and keep it open until it says linked.

WhatsApp is on another phone

Scan the QR code with the phone that has WhatsApp.

  1. On WB Sender's Link WhatsApp screen, choose QR code.
  2. On the other phone, open WhatsApp or WhatsApp Business.
  3. Tap Menu or Settings, then Linked devices.
  4. Tap Link a device.
  5. Point the camera at the QR code on WB Sender's screen.

Is it safe?

  • WB Sender links to your WhatsApp the same way WhatsApp Web does. Your number stays yours and WhatsApp keeps working on your phone as before.
  • In WhatsApp, under Linked devices, it is listed as Google Chrome (Ubuntu). You can log it out there at any time.
  • Linking uses the 8-character code WB Sender shows you. It never needs the 6-digit SMS code WhatsApp sends you — never share that code with anyone.
  • Only type a code that WB Sender shows on your own screen. If someone sends you a code and asks you to type it, don't.

If it doesn't work

WhatsApp says the code is wrong or has expired

A code only works for a short time. Go back to WB Sender, tap Get code again and type the new one.

The QR code keeps changing

That is normal: it redraws by itself. Keep WB Sender open and scan the newest one.

WhatsApp has paused new link codes for this number

WhatsApp limits how often one number can ask for a code. Wait a while and try again later.

I typed the code, but WB Sender never said linked

Come back to WB Sender right after typing the code and leave it open. If your phone closes apps in the background, tap Phone settings help on the link screen and follow the steps there.
